Fine- but I should have chosen a cheaper bike,
Kettler makes a heavy duty product. We loved our Kettler tricycle, and so we bought the bike, even though 12″ bikes can be had for half the cost. The verdict is– this is a VERY sturdy bike. It is as attractive as the picture makes it seem. The covered chain and padded handle bar are great. HOWEVER, this bike weighs a ton. I think my 4.5 year old would have had an easier time learning to ride a lighter bike. He can do it, but this bike is very heavy. I’m not sure the sturdiness is worth the extra effort.
Another Flaw– the training wheel nuts become loose ridiculously easily, making a horrible rattling sound until they are tightened again. Thank goodness we’re done with training wheels! I thought I would lose my mind from the noise.

|Great Bike For Toddler,
We bought this bike as a Christmas gift for our three year old son. Since we live in Utah my son could not ride it outside during the winter months. However, as soon as the sun came out my son wanted to ride his “Bingo Bike” outside. We own a Kettler trike and swingset, and have been impressed with all Kettler products. The bike is very sturdy and is very colorful. I haven’t had a problem with the bike -I highly recommend this bike for your little tike!

|ok,
My daughter rode the Kettler balance bike (that’s
the small one with no pedals) from age 3 to 4. Then
at age 4 she was ready for this bike, “ready” in the
respect that she could sit on the bike with the saddle
at its lowest setting, with both her feet planted on
the floor. We didn’t need to bother at all with the
training wheels, we just took her to a gently sloping
path in the local park and off she went. But the bike
is very heavy and whenever we ride to the park (about
1 mile each way) she will choose her balance bike over
the Bingo bike every time – she can go much faster on it,
and lift it up curbs and turn it around 180 degrees
underneath her, all without having to get off – none of
this is possible with the heavier Bingo. So in summary,
the Bingo bike did it’s job in that it taught her how to
ride a bike, but that’s it. The build quality is solid.
One minor gripe: the saddle angle is not adjustable, and
my daughter found herself slipping forwards on it, and
we ended up buying an adjustable-tilt saddle directly
from Kettler.
